The Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said in a Sunday morning the social networks that each Russian attack represents a failure in the campaign of sanctions led by the West against Moscow. “Each Shahed, each air pump used by Russia includes components provided in the choice of sanctions,” he said. “These weapons contain more than 82,000 foreign components.”
“Every day, we work with our partners to ensure that decisions are made precisely for the support that saves lives: the supply of air defense, investments in our defense production, strengthening the sanctions against Russia,” Zelenskyy wrote. “And we continue our work to bring just peace and provide reliable security guarantees.”
Russia has intensified its long -range attacks in Ukraine during the past week, coinciding with the decision of President Donald Trump to stop all military aid and the exchange of intelligence with Ukraine in an attempt to force kyiv to negotiate with the negotiations with the Russian president Vladimir Putin to end the invasion of three years of Moscow.
On Friday night he saw Russia launch 145 drones and three missiles in Ukraine, said the Air Force. He informed to demolish 79 drones with another 54 lost in flight.
On Saturday, Ukraine said that 24 people were killed in drone strikes in Donetsk, Kharkiv and Odesa. Among the attacked places were residential buildings and a shopping center in the city of Donetsk of Debropillya, which was subjected to ballistic missiles and drone attacks.
The European allies of Ukraine issued fierce condemnations of the weekend attacks in Russia.
“This is what happens when someone postponed to the barbarians,” said Polish President Donald Tusk in X, adding: “More bombs, more aggression, more victims. Another tragic night in Ukraine.”
The main diplomat of the European Union, Kaja Kallas, wrote in X: “Russian missiles continue to fall tirelessly in Ukraine, bringing more death and more destruction.”
“Once again, Putin shows that he has no interest in peace,” he added. “We must intensify our military support; otherwise, even more Ukrainian civilians will pay the highest price.”
Zelenskyy, meanwhile, expressed his condolences to the victims of Saturday strikes in a publication to social networks. “Of course, we are doing everything possible to protect lives,” he wrote.
“I am grateful to all the leaders, all those diplomats in our associated countries, all the public figures that support Ukraine, who have condemned these Russian attacks and call all things for their proper names,” he added.
“It is essential that we continue to coordinate all our efforts with our partners to ensure that our defense works effectively and that we do everything to bring peace closer,” Zelenskyy said.
Ukraine is pressing for a resumption of military aid and the exchange of American intelligence, which were imposed after a disastrous meeting between Trump and Zelenskyy in the White House.

Trump has entangled, and falsely, framed his Ukrainian counterpart as an illegitimate and Ukraine leader as the instigator of the Russian war. Ukrainian and European leaders have expressed concern about what they see as an alignment of the United States with the Russian narratives about the war from Trump’s return to the White House.
Ukrainian and American officials will meet in Saudi Arabia next week for discussions about the end of war. National Security Advisor Mike Waltz and Secretary of State Marco Rubio will direct the United States delegation.
On Friday, Trump told journalists that “we are doing very well with Russia,” that according to him it was “bombarding Ukraine.”
When asked if he felt that Putin was exploiting the freezing of the United States in assistance in his intensified attacks against Ukraine, Trump added: “I actually believe that he is doing what anyone else would do … I think he wants him to stop and resolve.”
The president also again framed Ukraine as the main impediment of peace. “I find it more difficult, frankly, deal with Ukraine. And they don’t have the cards,” Trump said. “In terms of obtaining a final agreement, it may be easier to deal with Russia.”
