As its influence within the federal government grows daily, a question arises routinely on the government’s efficiency department: who is in charge? This answer continues to evade the lawyers in charge of defending the administration of President Donald Trump in the Court.
In an affidavit filed in the Federal Court on Tuesday, a White House official clarified that Elon Musk is not the administrator of the newly formed entity, apparently contradicting Trump’s public statements. Since DOG announced in December 2024, it has routinely referred to Musk as its leader.

However, according to the director of the Office of Administration, Joshua Fischer, Musk is a “employee of the special non -special government” who serves as the main advisor of the president. The presentation compared the role of Musk with Anita Dunn’s, a political advisor for a long time that he served as the main advisor of President Joe Biden.
The presentation did not provide any information about who supervises Doge, apart from discarding Musk.
