Actor Gene Hackman and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, were found dead next to a dog at his home in New Mexico on Wednesday afternoon, News told ABC News.
The couple was found during a social assistance check after their neighbor called to worry about their well -being, said public information officer of the Santa Fe County Sheriff, Denise Avila.

“It is not suspected that the dirty game as a factor in those deaths at this time, however, the exact cause of death has not been determined,” the office said in a statement.
The academy award winning actor, who starred in “The French Connection”, “The Conversation” and “The Royal Tenenbaums”, among dozens of other Hollywood successes, was 95.

Research on death is “active and continuous,” said the office. The house is located in the Hyde Santa Fe Park area, police said.
